Easy Waffle Recipe
This crispy waffle recipe has bonus gut healthy ingredients! With whole wheat flour and egg whites instead of whole eggs, it's light, fluffy, and healthy!

- 1 cup wheat flour whole wheat white King Arthur Flour is excellent!
- 1/2 cup white flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups milk reduced fat
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 2 egg whites whipped to stiffen
- maple syrup

First, add the dry ingredients
Add the flours, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon to a bowl. Stir with a wooden spoon.

Next, add the wet ingredients.
In a small bowl, melt the butter in the microwave. Add it to the dry ingredients.

Then, in the same bowl, add two egg whites. Breaking apart the eggs, and transferring the egg yoke back and forth between the egg shells over the bowl while the egg white slowly drips into the bowl. Do this until most of the egg white is in the bowl. Discard the egg yoke.

Using a handheld mixer, beat the egg whites until the stiffen and form peaks.
Add the milk to the dry ingredients and mix lightly with a whisk or your handheld mixer on low.

Add the egg whites and fold into the batter with a wooden spoon.
Turn on your waffle maker to medium heat.
Using a ladle, add batter to the waffle maker. Close the lid and wait until you hear the beep. Open, and use a fork to lightly lift the waffles out.
Serve with butter and maple syrup! Enjoy these deliciously fluffy waffles!
